Having issues downloading High Sierra from the App Store, it keeps wanting to download a 20MB stub installer. I need the full 4GB package so I can create a bootable USB. I've tried download the .pkg files direclty from Apple and then redirecting internal DNS to those packages as per an article I found, but the App Store keeps downloading the stub no matter what I do.  Do all updates of your current OS first - there's a specific update for the App Store that's required. I experienced this exact same issue, but had left out the App Store update. Once I applied it I was able to download the full High Sierra installer.

So we see there's more than one cause, as I've never modified my lesvraissondages.freUpdate preferences, not for my laptop. I've done that for clients I've set up with their own internal SUS but not change my own user prefs in that regard :-)

When I click on download in the App Store, it says "downloaded" and opens the installer application. Problem, I can't find where it downloaded the file. It's not in my downloads folder with.

Which folder should the downloaded installer be in?
